Concurso de buques para Reino Unido

Navantia is getting closer and closer to winning the FSS -Fleet Solid Support- award for the manufacture of two Combat Supply Vessels (BAC) -with the option of a third party- for the British Navy after the withdrawal of two of the five competitors of the same, Daewoo and Fincatieri, and the possibility that a third party, Team UK, will follow them.

According to the financial newspaper Financial Times, the reason for this decision would be in one of the requirements reflected in the specifications of the contract, which establishes that the shipyards themselves will have to advance part of the financing of the project. This particular point would make things easier for those publicly owned companies – in this case Navantia and the Japan Marine United Corporation – although this should not be a problem for the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) Team UK – given the joint economic potential of BAE Systems, Bab-cock, Cammel Laird and Rolls Roy-ce-, which could indicate other reasons.
