Last week the international PACIFIC 2019 fair was held in Sydney, where Navantia Australia presented its new support vessel called JSS (Joint Support Ship or Joint Support Ship).
The JSS has been completely designed in the new center that the Australian subsidiary of the Spanish public company opened last year in the Antipodes.
It has a curious and very capable design by combining, on the same platform, up to 70% of the loading capacity of the HMAS Choules landing ship and 70% of the AOR HMAS Success fuel transport capacity.
To achieve this combination, the design team of Navantia Australia has departed from the plans of the Galicia class in service with the Spanish Navy.
