The digitization of the industrial sector is a reality that is becoming more evident every day in all production areas, from the robotization of assembly lines to the incorporation of the Internet in traditionally mechanical procedures.
The large European shipbuilding companies integrated in the Euroyards entity – in which Navantia is located together with Chantiers de l’Atlantique, Damen Shipyards Group, Fincatieri, Lürssen, Meyer Werft and Naval Group – recently decided to promote the Code Kilo project.
Its objective is to establish a collaboration protocol for the standardization of data, which would allow responding to the digital challenge in an efficient and safe way.
Thus, from Euroyards advance that this initiative will allow “increase the opportunities to reuse, combine to obtain values and perceptions through data”, avoiding the costs derived from having to check them without having the support of a reliable base of similar results .
