The port of Rotterdam to supply Europe with up to 4.6 MT of hydrogen by 2030

Up to 70 companies are participating in this large scale project. The Port of Rotterdam, together with the cluster of maritime companies operating there, the national government and other public companies, will work towards the goal of supplying Europe with hydrogen on an annual basis with a sustained quantity. The European objectives of slowing down climate change, becoming energy independent and making a profit and creating wealth from this would be closer to being achieved. The work carried out by all these institutions would generate a concrete and specific plan to achieve the continent’s three objectives. Highly Efficient ME-GI Engines at Heart of Hybrid-Propulsion CLdN RoRo Newbuildings

MAN Energy Solutions has won the order for 4 × dual-fuel MAN B&W 6S60ME-GI engines in connection with the construction of two hybrid, 8,000 lane-metre, RoRo vessels for CLdN, the Luxembourg-based shipping group. Both 234-metre vessels are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2025. The two new buildings will have a hybrid propulsion system with each featuring 2 × ME-GI engines (2 × 11 MW) along with MAN Energy Solutions’ propietary EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) emissions system. Both RoRo vessels will also be supplied with 2 × 6 MW electric propulsion motors that will enable the ships to maintain a service speed of 16 – 17 knots in full electric mode. The construction of the first F-110 frigate for the Spanish Navy begins

Navantia has started the construction process of the new F-110 class frigate for Spanish Navy, with the cutting of the first steel plate in an event presided by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. The programme, whose implementation order was signed in 2019, foresees the construction of five frigates, valued at 4,320 million euros. The F-111 will be commissioned in 2027 and deliveries will take place yearly. The cutting of the first steel plate has taken place the 6th of April in Navantia’s shipyard in Ferrol (A Coruña, Spain), where all five F-110 class frigates will be built.
